F\u00f8rste del av natten er den dype s\u00f8vnen aktiv og avgj\u00f8rende for restitusjonen din. Her skyller hjernen ut alt den ikke trenger, og immunforsvaret danner nye celler. Dyp s\u00f8vn reduseres ved stress, og hvis du legger deg for sent. Biologisk styres syklusen v\u00e5r av to faktorer: s\u00f8vnpresset og d\u00f8gnrytmen, som samlet regulerer dybden og varigheten av s\u00f8vnen.<br \/><br \/>S\u00f8vnpresset hjelper kroppen med \u00e5 opprettholde en balanse mellom den rette mengden s\u00f8vn og v\u00e5kenhet over tid. S\u00f8vnpresset stiger jo lenger tid man har v\u00e6rt v\u00e5ken. Det p\u00e5virkes blant annet av hvor godt vi har sovet natten f\u00f8r og av hvor fysisk aktive vi er. 16 timers v\u00e5kenhet og en aktiv livsstil gir et godt s\u00f8vnpres.<br \/><br \/>D\u00f8gnrytmen og kroppens rytmer styres av en samling nerveceller i hjernen, som kalles den indre klokken.
